How to read these counts
Active jobs are current USAJOBS announcements shown in Jobs. Historical jobs are captured federal announcements that are closed and shown under Historical Jobs.
The all-announcement total is a distinct control-number union. Active and Historical should not overlap; current overlap is 0.
Future scheduled close dates are not counted as Historical until the close date passes or official closure evidence is captured.

Historical archive counts are reported separately.
Active jobs and historical closed announcements answer different questions. Historical jobs are useful for research and long-range hiring history, while the Jobs page remains focused on currently open announcements.
